Our business ecosystem, a sustainable network for all, was the thematic for last Friday’s 20th edition of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Shawinigan (CCIS) Desjardins Distinction gala. Over 400 guests attended the special event which recognized regional businesses and entrepreneurs.

Further to an in depth analysis of all regional businesses, the City of Shawinigan diversification and economic development committee (approx.15 people), identified those major players in each of the following 4 categories for the "Diversification and Economic Development Award" :

  • Energy efficiency and green technologies
  • Composite materials
  • Metal transformation
  • Electronic components

In the E­nergy efficiency and green technologies category

Objectives :

  • Enhance initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration between the research and entrepreneurial sectors.

  • Monitor innovation and research & development support programs and communicate results to businesses.

  • Work closely with research centers and related businesses in order to identify innovative products carrying a definite potential for the development of the Shawinigan region.

  • Establish an approach and means to recruit and retain required specialized manpower.

  • Consolidate Shawinigan’s positioning within the energy efficiency and green technology sector.

We are pleased to announce that Bionest was named in the Energy efficiency and green technologies category.
